New single (7” vinyl & digital) from London-based experimentalist Seb Rochford (Polar Bear, Sons of Kemet) and his latest group: Pulled By Magnets. The single consists of two vastly different versions of a track from upcoming debut album. While the A-side features the Pulled By Magnets trio, the B-side is a solo performance by acclaimed organist/composer Kit Downes.

Glitterbeat label imprint tak:til will be releasing Pulled By Magnet’s debut album “Rose Golden Doorways” on February 28th, 2020.

"Sometimes people let themselves be known, so maybe you can invite them in." -- Seb Rochford

Seb Rochford is a hugely respected Scottish drummer who has worked with numerous artists across various genres, including Patti Smith, Herbie Hancock, David Byrne, Brian Eno, Corrine Bailey Rae, Pete Doherty’s Babyshambles and Paolo Nutini. He has picked up four Mercury Music Prize nominations: Polar Bear (2005 and 2014), Basquiat Strings and Seb Rochford (2007) and Sons of Kemet (2018).

Following the success of Polar Bear - which was also nominated for MOBO, Jazz FM & Parliamentary Jazz Awards - the sound of Pulled by Magnets takes a new and powerful direction. It is a sound of a deep and personal exploration and musical re-alignment, conceived with a determination to stir and immerse.

Pulled By Magnets are a three-piece, featuring in addition to Rochford, Pete Wareham (Acoustic Ladyland, Polar Bear, F-IRE) on saxophone and Neil Charles (Zed-U, Empirical, Tomorrow's Warrior) on bass.
