For over thirty years, Arnaud Fournier has been a key figure in the French experimental scene, moving freely between noise, indie, and improvised music. From the duo Hint in the late ’90s to projects such as La Phaze, Dead Hippies, and Atonalist, his work has consistently crossed genres and extremes. 100% Black Puzzle (2025) is his first album released under his own name, blending saturated guitars, saxophone, trumpet, hypnotic loops, and dense drones.
The project began during a solo residency in 2020, emerging from a single improvised live performance and later confirmed through concerts, including opening shows for Thurston Moore. Mixed and mastered by Olivier “Cali” Fournier, the album echoes Hint’s debut 100% White Puzzle, revisiting a spirit of total freedom. Shaped by close collaborations and family ties, the record balances raw intensity with intimacy, memory with renewal — a deeply personal statement and a new chapter in Fournier’s long-running journey.
