    Один в оленьем парке (Alone In Deer Park) is a solo project of Artem Egorov of the band Cosmic Letdowns based in Cheboksary, Chuvashia, in central Russia. The name is a nod to the eponymous song by Christian Bland & The Revelators.

    With this solo material Artem has increasingly moved towards an expression of Chuvash "ethno-futurism" by embracing his native roots, language, and folk material while utilising the expansive palettes of psychedelia, bedroom pop, and lo-fi electronica to explore new possibilities for Chuvash music. The songs often emphasising the celebratory tone of many Chuvash folk songs--performed at weddings, feasts, and village gatherings--though each tune is original material.

    Kota Tones is proud to work with Artem to release this compilation and limited edition cassette featuring songs recorded between 2020-2024, including his newest single "Ухмах" (Fool). Recorded entirely in his home studio in the city of Novochebaksarsk.

    Chuvash are a Turkic ethnic group native to the Volga-Ural region in central Russia, descendants of Volga Bulgars and Sabirs. Today most Chuvash reside in their ethnic republic of Chuvashia, where they make up a slight majority amongst other peoples. Chuvash is the last remaining Oghur (Bulgar) Turkic language still spoken. As of the 2020 Russian census there are approximately 740,000 native speakers, with 1.1 million who identify as ethnically Chuvash.
